Night watch movie review
by aregenthos on Monday 27 February 2006
OK, so I went into this movie not really knowing what to expect (I knew that it was Russian and it dealt with Vampires and it was getting a fair amount of critical acclaim) So Scotty Ho and I went to see it.
The Family Guy Movie - For legal reasons, let's call this a prediction.

So, Family Guy movie. Yeah, umm... wow. That, well, that was about 86 minutes longer than it needed to be. Whoa. Saving all their ?A? material for the tv spots, huh? I'll tell you, everyone who pays for the movie will be pretty pissed. Well, most everyone. There'll be a group of bastiches out there who'll insist that the movie was brilliant. These blind-to-reason, logic, evidence, common sense, and taste, possibly retarded, definitely annoying, most likely also Star Wars fans, will tell everyone to see the film and won't understand why all their friends then hate them. Don?t be one of these people.
Batman Begins

How to compare this film.... If I compare it to the Batman franchise, I must include the last two films. If I don't include them, then I must rate this film as a stand alone. Oh, well, that answers that. Let's pretend that this movie is where Batman's movie career begins.

Hero (2004)

There is such as thing as a work of art. With the constant barrage of mediocre films masquerading as quality, it's often easy to forget that films can be elevated beyond mere entertainment. Hero (2004) is more than just an amazing film; it's a work of art.
Alien Vs. Predator
by savage on Tuesday 17 August 2004
The premise of this film is to showcase the greatest hunters in the universe verses the most lethal prey. Both Aliens and Predator each come from their own movie lines and come together to hunt each other for the first time on screen.
The Manchurian Candidate
by savage on Sunday 08 August 2004
I see 'em so you don't have to. That's pretty much my summary of this movie. Of course I'm speaking of the 2004 Manchurian Candidate, not the classic, still awesome 1962 Manchurian Candidate. You know it's a bad sign when the science from a 1960s movie is still significantly more believable than the modern 2004 version.
